Our photographic journey begins in Hanoi, where we depart the city center for a specialized workshop in a traditional bamboo craft village. We strongly recommend that guests arrive in Hanoi one or two days prior to the tour's official start to recover from jet lag and acclimatize to the vibrant local atmosphere. This early arrival ensures you are fully refreshed and focused when we begin documenting the intricate weaving techniques used to create Vietnam’s iconic, sculptural fishing baskets.

During our afternoon session, we will focus on the geometric patterns and rhythmic hand movements of the local artisans as they transform raw bamboo into functional art. The village courtyards, filled with drying baskets, provide a wealth of opportunities for wide-angle compositions and detailed macro shots. After capturing the heart of this ancient craft, we return to Hanoi for a refined welcome dinner, where we will discuss the technical itinerary and the creative goals for the days ahead.

We return to Hanoi to stay at the Grand Plaza or Novotel Thai Ha, enjoying a comfortable evening in 5-star accommodation in the heart of the city.

We start the day early at the enchanting incense village, arriving well before the crowds to secure the best vantage points of the super-saturated crimson bundles. This location is a dream for graphic composition, offering an explosion of color and intricate patterns that are particularly striking when captured from above with a drone. We will work with a local worker posing amidst the sea of incense, allowing you to create high-impact environmental portraits that contrast the human element with the vivid, repetitive textures of the craft.

Our journey continues to a traditional soy sauce production facility, where hundreds of ceramic jars create powerful leading lines and geometric designs across the courtyard. This site is a playground for those seeking strong graphic elements and a look into time-honored culinary techniques, providing excellent opportunities for both ground-level storytelling and architectural drone shots. After lunch, we conclude the day’s shoot by documenting the production of vibrant sleeping mats from an elevated perspective, where the clash of colors and woven patterns creates a stunning abstract mosaic. We overnight in luxury at the Grand Plaza Hanoi Hotel or Novotel Hanoi Thai Ha, perfectly positioned to review our day's work.

Day 3 · Hanoi

In the quiet outskirts of Hanoi, we discover a group of local women who have turned the artistic arrangement of floating water lilies into a true visual spectacle. Using a medium telephoto lens, we will document these graphically dynamic scenes as the women curate intricate, colorful designs across the water's surface. Ground-level...

Ground-level shots allow us to utilize the stunning mirror reflections on the pond, while drone photography reveals an entirely different perspective of symmetry and floral geometry that is equally striking.

After lunch, we step back in time at Duong Lam Ancient Village, a living museum that has maintained its authentic character for centuries. We will explore the narrow, moss-covered alleys and traditional laterite houses to capture candid moments of locals as they go about their daily routines. This historic setting offers a deep well of cultural heritage, providing endless opportunities for documentary-style portraits and architectural storytelling. We return for another night of 5-star comfort at the Grand Plaza Hanoi or Novotel Hanoi Thai Ha, reflecting on a day of both curated beauty and raw tradition.

Today we leave the capital behind and head toward the Tu Le Valley, a region renowned for expansive rice terraces that cascade down the mountainsides like natural stairways. It is a profound experience to witness these landscapes, carved by hand over centuries to sustain the mountain communities, offering a testament to human resilience and artistry. You will find endless ways to compose this unique environment, using wide-angle lenses to capture the vastness of the valley and telephotos to isolate the intricate, rhythmic patterns of the fields. For those who have brought a drone, this location provides a truly outstanding opportunity to capture award-winning aerial images of the emerald and golden ridges.

As we navigate the winding roads, we’ll make several strategic stops to document the vibrant hues of rural Vietnam and the local ethnic minority groups tending to their ancestral lands. The afternoon light in Tu Le is particularly magical, casting long shadows that accentuate the "stairway to heaven" effect of the terraces. We conclude the day at the stunning Garrya Mu Cang Chai Resort, the region’s premier luxury retreat, where you can relax in 5-star comfort while overlooking the very slopes we spent the day documenting. This overnight stay ensures we are perfectly positioned to catch the first light on the high-altitude peaks the following morning.

Day 5 · Mu Cang Chai

Our day begins at the breathtaking Mam Xoi viewpoint in Mu Cang Chai, where the rising sun bathes the rolling, circular terraces in a spectacular golden glow. Our day begins at the breathtaking Mam Xoi viewpoint in Mu Cang Chai, where the rising sun bathes the rolling, circular terraces in a spectacular golden glow. We spend the morning wandering through these world-renowned landscapes, where every vista reveals vibrant green fields framed by the dramatic peaks of the Hoang Lien Son range. This is a prime opportunity to use your wide-angle lens to capture the sheer scale of the agricultural architecture and your drone to document the perfect symmetry of the "sticky rice tray" hill from above.

Later, we transition to an intimate documentary session, photographing the local Hmong people inside a rustic corn shack as natural daylight streams through the wooden slats. In the same village, we will discover the stunning horseshoe-shaped rice terraces, which offer powerful graphic designs and elegant curves that wrap around the mountain spurs. We wrap up the day by capturing the last rays of light on these agricultural marvels; even if clouds diffuse the sun, the soft light creates a moody, ethereal atmosphere that is equally beautiful for photography. We return for a second night to the luxury of the Garrya Mu Cang Chai Resort to rest and review our expansive portfolio.

Day 6 · Mu Cang Chai - Hue

This morning, we bid a reluctant farewell to the awe-inspiring terraced landscapes of Mu Cang Chai that we have loved photographing over the past few days. This morning, we bid a reluctant farewell to the awe-inspiring terraced landscapes of Mu Cang Chai that we have loved photographing over the past few days. We begin our descent from the highlands, enjoying a final scenic drive through the mountain passes as we head back toward the capital. By the afternoon, we arrive in Hanoi to board a domestic flight that whisks us away to the imperial city of Hue, marking the start of a new cultural chapter in our journey. This transition day allows us to move from the rugged northern heights to the refined elegance of central Vietnam’s historic heart.

Upon arrival in Hue, we will check into the luxurious 5-star Melia Vinpearl Hue Hotel, where you can refresh and prepare your gear for an evening of creative exploration. The city’s illuminated bridges and ancient monuments provide a spectacular backdrop for a night photography session along the Perfume River. We will practice long-exposure techniques to capture the vibrant neon lights reflecting off the water and the glowing atmosphere of the city's historic landmarks. After a productive night shoot, we retire to our premium rooms, perfectly positioned for the imperial heritage and lagoon sessions that await us tomorrow.

Day 7 · Hue

Our day in Hue begins at the break of dawn, capturing a serene sunrise over the expansive lagoon where the morning light glimmers off the tranquil waters. We then move to the Imperial City, where we are joined by beautiful Vietnamese models dressed in traditional outfits to bring a sense of grace and authenticity to the historic grounds. The contrast of their exquisite white attire against the bold colors and intricate textures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a perfect blend of fashion and heritage photography. This session allows you to practice environmental portraiture amidst the sprawling courtyards and ornate gateways of the former royal capital.

Later in the day, we document local fishermen as they cast their nets in a time-honored rhythm, utilizing fast shutter speeds to freeze the nets in a variety of dynamic, sculptural shapes. We then transition to the paper flower village, where we will photograph the delicate artistry of a woman creating vibrant, detailed blossoms by hand—a true testament to Hue's craft heritage. As evening falls, we capture the magical "blue hour" during a tranquil lantern ceremony along the Perfume River, followed by a deeply atmospheric candle-lighting ceremony inside an ancient temple. We return to the luxury of the Melia Vinpearl Hue Hotel to rest after a day rich in cultural depth and spiritual beauty.

Day 8 · Hue - Da Nang

Today we ascend to the Ba Na Hills on the outskirts of Da Nang to document the world-famous Golden Hand Bridge, an architectural marvel that seems to be held aloft by a pair of giant stone hands. Today we ascend to the Ba Na Hills on the outskirts of Da Nang to document the world-famous Golden Hand Bridge, an architectural marvel that seems to be held aloft by a pair of giant stone hands. After a scenic cable car ride to the summit, we will check into the Mercure Ba Na Hills French Village and enjoy lunch before exploring the town’s unique European-inspired architecture. A short second cable car takes us directly to the bridge, where we will spend the afternoon finding the most creative angles to frame this one-of-a-kind structure against the misty mountain backdrop. The massive hands provide a surreal subject for wide-angle perspectives while on the bridge and for medium telephoto shots from the surrounding pathways.

For those with drones, the perspective from above is truly magnificent, revealing the bridge as a shimmering golden thread held by the earth itself. We have the distinct advantage of staying on the mountain, allowing us to remain at the bridge until sunset to capture the exquisite golden light as it hits the metallic walkway and the weathered textures of the hands. This late-afternoon session provides a much quieter atmosphere, perfect for capturing clean, dramatic landscapes without the daytime crowds. We conclude the day with a relaxing evening at the Mercure Ba Na Hill Hotel, enjoying the cool mountain air and the unique experience of staying atop one of Vietnam's most iconic peaks.

Day 9 · Da Nang - Hoi An

We begin the morning with an exclusive sunrise shoot on the Golden Hand Bridge, capturing the first light hitting the massive stone hands before the day-trippers arrive. We begin the morning with an exclusive sunrise shoot on the Golden Hand Bridge, capturing the first light hitting the massive stone hands before the day-trippers arrive. The quiet morning atmosphere and the potential for mountain mist create a dreamlike quality that is perfect for ethereal landscape photography. After a hearty breakfast at the summit, we descend the mountain by cable car and drive to the lush Son Tra Peninsula. This nature preserve is the sanctuary for the critically endangered Red-shanked Douc Langur, often called the "Queen of Primates" for its vibrant, multi-colored fur. With only a few thousand left in the wild, this is a rare and profound opportunity to practice high-end wildlife photography.

Our goal is to capture these beautiful primates in their natural habitat, focusing on their expressive faces and agile movements through the canopy. We will utilize long lenses to ensure we maintain a respectful distance while still achieving intimate, detailed portraits. Following our wildlife session, we continue our journey south to the charming town of Hoi An. We will check into the Wafaifo Hoi An Hotel, a stylish and luxurious base that perfectly blends modern comfort with the town's historic soul. After settling in, you can enjoy a relaxed evening exploring the lantern-lit streets, preparing for our final day of coastal and cultural exploration.

Day 10 · Hoi An - Da Nang

We wrap up the trip by visiting a local artist who specializes in oversized traditional masks. Walking into his studio, you’re met with a wall of vibrant, hand-painted expressions, some towering over the artist himself. It’s an ideal setting to photograph the intersection of folk art and scale, focusing on the textures of the wood...

We wrap up the trip by visiting a local artist who specializes in oversized traditional masks. Walking into his studio, you’re met with a wall of vibrant, hand-painted expressions, some towering over the artist himself. It’s an ideal setting to photograph the intersection of folk art and scale, focusing on the textures of the wood and the saturated pigments.

Afterward, we spend time with an elderly lady from the community who has a fantastic face for photography. Her relaxed presence and the way she catches the morning light make for powerful, authentic portraits that require very little direction. These final frames serve as a meaningful close to our visual story. We then transfer to the Da Nang International Airport, arriving by 12:00 PM for your departure and the conclusion of the tour.
