Our photographic expedition commences amidst the breathtaking natural splendor of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its thousands of towering limestone karsts that dramatically rise from the emerald-green waters. We'll spend two full days exploring this mesmerizing landscape, capturing its ethereal beauty at both sunrise and sunset with our cameras and drones.
Imagine the breathtaking aerial shots of the karsts shrouded in mist at dawn, or the golden light painting the cliffs as the sun dips below the horizon. Ha Long Bay offers a photographer's paradise, with countless opportunities to capture its unique and awe-inspiring beauty.
Following an early morning photography session capturing the sunrise over Ha Long Bay, our journey will take us to Hung Yen province. Here, we will document the vibrant cultural tapestry of the region, focusing on the intricate craftsmanship of a bamboo basket village and the traditional methods of a soy sauce village, providing opportunities to capture the unique essence of these two distinct communities. Subsequently, we will proceed to Hanoi for your overnight accommodation.
Today's exploration delves into the cultural heartland near Hanoi. Our photographic focus will be on meticulously documenting the traditional processes and the aged barrels involved in local crafts, aiming to capture the rich aromas and enduring traditions.
In the afternoon, we will visit Duong Lam ancient village to capture its timeless charm and rustic character. Upon our return to Hanoi, we will seek out vantage points to photograph the sunset over a prominent city roundabout and experience the renowned Hanoi train street from a less frequented perspective.
Our day begins amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Tam Coc in Ninh Binh, a UNESCO World Heritage site where dramatic limestone karsts rise majestically from serene waterways, creating an almost surreal and picturesque landscape. Through our photography, we aim to encapsulate the poetic essence of Vietnam’s countryside.
From the tranquility of Tam Coc, our journey will then extend to Mu Cang Chai, promising new and captivating photographic opportunities.
Today, we will witness and photograph the renowned terraced rice fields of Mu Cang Chai, including the iconic Mam Xoi viewpoint, capturing the intricate patterns and stunning vistas.
In the afternoon, we will explore significant locations within Mu Cang Chai, such as a traditional H’Mong corn house, and capture the sunset from the horseshoe viewpoint before returning to our accommodation.
Our morning will be dedicated to a continued photography session of the landscape, focusing on capturing the impressive rice terraces of Lao Chai under the soft morning light.
In the afternoon, we will visit the serene bamboo forest of Mu Cang Chai and photograph members of the H’Mong tribe in their traditional attire and customs, offering insights into their rich cultural heritage.
We will depart from Mu Cang Chai and travel back to Hanoi, where we will board an afternoon flight to the historical city of Hue.
In the evening, we will capture the graceful imagery of Ao Dai-clad models releasing flower garlands onto the river at sunset and the serene ambiance of lighting candles within an ancient temple at night.
Today, we will immerse ourselves in the historical grandeur of Hue’s Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Vietnamese models adorned in elegant Ao Dai will provide a focal point for our photography, bringing the past to life against the backdrop of ancient walls and majestic architecture. Our lens will focus on capturing narratives of tradition and grace within this significant cultural landmark.
Our day begins with a sunrise photography session at the serene Lagoon of Hue, followed by a visit to the Thanh Tien paper flower village, where we will capture the delicate artistry of traditional paper flower making.
From Hue, we will then travel to Hoi An. Upon arrival, we will photograph Hoi An’s fishermen with their distinctive Ro Cho fishing baskets and capture the enchanting sunset over the ancient town, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its historic architecture and vibrant atmosphere.
Our day begins with a sunrise photography opportunity in the charming ancient town of Hoi An, allowing us to capture its serene beauty in the early morning light.
Later in the morning, our focus will shift to portrait photography, aiming to capture the character and wisdom reflected in the face of a senior local resident. As the morning progresses, we will continue our visual exploration by documenting the intricate process of sewing fishing nets, highlighting the skill and tradition involved. In the afternoon, we will photograph local farmers working in the verdant grass fields. Subsequently, we will bid farewell to the captivating town of Hoi An and journey towards Quang Ngai, where new and enriching photographic experiences await us.
Our day begins with capturing the fishermen harvesting clams during low tide, followed by documenting the processes at a local sugar factory.
In the afternoon, we will check out and travel to Phu Yen. En route, we will photograph the longest wooden bridge and aim for a conceptual photography session arranging boats during sunset.
In Phu Yen, we will immerse ourselves in the rhythm of coastal life, photographing fishermen engaged in their daily routines on the waves and, with luck, the dynamic spectacle of net casting. Our journey will then lead us to a local village where traditional coracle boats are crafted, offering a unique opportunity to photograph the skilled artisans shaping these distinctive round vessels.
As the day unfolds, we will travel towards the scenic province of Khanh Hoa, where new and exciting photographic opportunities await. Today’s visual narrative will capture the essence of Vietnam’s coastal heritage, from maritime traditions to the artistry of boat building.
Our day will commence early as we document the dedicated labor of Khanh Hoa’s salt farmers, capturing their silhouettes against the expansive, glistening white salt fields. Subsequently, our focus will shift to the intricate process of net sewing, preserving the skill and dedication woven into each stitch.
Later, we will journey to Phan Rang Thap Cham in Ninh Thuan province, where we will conclude the day by photographing a shepherd guiding his flock home against the stunning backdrop of golden sand dunes. Today’s visual narrative will interweave themes of human endeavor, cultural heritage, and the raw beauty of Vietnam’s diverse landscapes.
At sunrise, we will capture the serene beauty of the Nam Cuong sand dunes, framing the silhouette of a Cham woman amidst the shifting sands. Moving into a local Cham village, we will document the traditional pottery-making process, a craft passed down through generations, capturing the artistry and cultural significance.
In the afternoon, we will capture scenes of local farmers herding their sheep back to their enclosures.
Our morning will take us to the coastal scenery of Binh Thuan, where we will photograph the sunrise over the ancient rock formations along the shore.
Later in the day, we will set off for Mui Ne in Binh Thuan province, home to some of Vietnam’s most striking sand dunes, preparing for another day of dynamic landscapes and cultural encounters. Here, we capture the kids playing with old tires on the sand dunes until sunset.
Our day begins with capturing the sunrise over the coastal town of Mui Ne. Following this, we will visit a local factory to document the traditional process of fish sauce production, offering insights into this important regional industry.
In the afternoon, we will photograph a traditional cake factory, aiming to capture the interplay of light and the intricate processes involved. Later in the day, we will move to a resort located near Vietnam’s oldest lighthouse, providing a change of scenery and potential evening photography opportunities.
We will start our day by capturing the sunrise over the Ke Ga lighthouse and the dramatic of waves crashing against the rocks. And photograph the fishermen push their coracle boat to the sea during high waves.
Later, we will travel to Vung Tau to observe and photograph the local practice of fish drying. Finally, we will proceed to Ho Chi Minh City, aiming to arrive in time to capture the sunset over Vietnam's largest metropolis.
Our final morning will take us to a picturesque waterlily village in the Mekong Delta, offering opportunities to photograph these beautiful aquatic flowers and the surrounding landscapes. Subsequently, we will document the local workers engaged in collecting grass and spinach, providing a glimpse into the agricultural practices of the region.
