Capture Vietnam’s most iconic photography spots in one incredible tour with the Around Vietnam Photography Tour, led by Tran Tuan Viet, a Canon ambassador and National Geographic contributor. This 10-day adventure takes you across Vietnam’s diverse landscapes, covering over 2,000 kilometers of rugged mountains, lush deltas, and breathtaking coastlines.
Travel from North to South of Vietnam, photographing Hanoi’s lively charm, Hung Yen’s peaceful countryside, Ninh Binh’s dramatic karsts, Hue’s regal heritage, Hoi An’s glowing lanterns, Phu Yen’s striking cliffs, Khanh Hoa’s pristine beaches, Ninh Thuan’s unique deserts, Binh Thuan’s rolling dunes, and Ho Chi Minh City’s dynamic pulse.
Welcome to Vietnam! Our journey begins with an afternoon photography session at the Incense Village, where we capture its vibrant colors and rich traditions. After our shoot, we head into town for a welcome dinner, getting to know each other over delicious local cuisine and toasting to the adventure ahead.
Today, we immerse ourselves in the cultural heart of Northern Vietnam, capturing the essence of two iconic villages. In the morning, we visit a traditional soy sauce village, where the art of fermentation has been passed down for generations. Our lenses will document the meticulous process and the aged barrels exuding rich aromas.
We begin our day in the breathtaking landscapes of Tam Coc, where limestone karsts rise from tranquil waterways, creating a dreamlike setting. As we capture this UNESCO-listed gem, each frame becomes a visual poem of Vietnam’s countryside.
We step into the historic grandeur of Hue’s Imperial City, where Vietnamese models dressed in elegant Ao Dai bring the past to life against ancient walls and regal architecture. Our cameras frame stories of tradition and grace within this UNESCO-listed citadel.
We begin our morning in Hue’s eerie yet captivating abandoned water park, where nature is slowly reclaiming forgotten structures. This haunting beauty offers a unique contrast of decay and resilience.
At 4 a.m., we set sail on a tranquil river to photograph Hoi An’s fishermen using the traditional Ro technique, casting their nets in the soft morning light. Each ripple tells a story of time-honored skill and perseverance.
In Phu Yen, we immerse ourselves in the rhythms of coastal life, capturing fishermen navigating the waves and, if fortune favors, the dynamic grace of a net-casting scene. Our journey then takes us to a coracle boat-making village, where skilled hands shape these traditional round boats.
We rise early to document the hard work of Khanh Hoa’s salt farmers, their silhouettes set against the glistening white salt fields. We then shift our focus to the intricate craft of net sewing, preserving the skill and dedication woven into every stitch.
At sunrise, we frame the poetic beauty of Nam Cuong sand dunes, silhouetting a Cham woman in the shifting sands. Moving into a Cham village, we document the traditional pottery-making process, a craft passed down through generations.
Our final morning takes us to Binh Thuan’s dunes, where children play with old tires, their laughter echoing through the sandy expanse. In the afternoon, we shift to Vung Tau, capturing the artistry of steamed fish preparation in a local workshop.
